The words of gratitude are the most powerful words of all. So, if your not using them, then you might want to rethink it. Gratitude and giving thanks are the most important things you can do for yourself and others. Please let me explain.
It’s simple really. Being grateful for the things in your life that you are most thankful for brings more of the same back to you. Complaining about the stuff in your life you don’t like brings more of that stuff to you. So, if you love your spouse, if you love your job, if you love your home, start giving thanks for these things.
Focusing on what you have that you are thankful for also decreases depression and increases ones overall well being.
It has been said that you attract more bees with honey than you do with vinegar. Same is true here. If you make it a point to thank those who do you a favor , go out of their way to be nice, or just do something you like, they are more likely to do it again if they know it is appreciated.
The Truth: People want to be liked and they are constantly seeking approval, whether they admit it or not. People love to be recognized. A simple thank you gives a warm fuzzy feeling that is addictive. Not only for them, but for you as well.
The more you give thanks, the better you feel. The more someone else thanks you, the more you want them to thank you, so you will go out of your way to get that thank you once again. Try it. You’ll see.
Being thankful for what you don’t have yet opens you up to receive it. When you want something, the simple act of being thankful for having it will bring it closer to you. If you want a new car that you don’t already posses and you say thank you for that new car then your spirit and the universe start to work overtime to get it because if you are grateful for it then you must receive it so that your gratitude is consistent.
I realize this is a hard one to wrap your mind around, but think about it. If someone says they are grateful for something, then you assume that they already have it, right? Same concept. Also, you start to believe you already have it when you are thankful for it and isn’t that what the law of attraction teaches us? If you believe you will receive it, then you will.
You don’t have to be grateful for the bad things that have happened to you, but you can give thanks for what may have come out of those situations. Doing this can help you begin to heal old wounds. As most of us know, holding on to these things can only hurt us more. People are always talking about letting go, but most of us don’t know how to do that. Well, this is how.
Words of gratitude can heal your old wounds and bring you what you want most out of life. It can lessen depression and increase your overall well being, and darn it, it just plain feels good! Aren’t these reasons enough to give thanks?
