The Four Positive Agreements
Recently I read the Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and i wrote the subject of each agreement on a post it note and stuck it to my computer at work.
I have been using affirmations for a while now to improve my outlook on life and support me whilst recovering from depression and anxiety attacks. Recently I used information from this website and Danea Horn's website to conduct a team building session in my office. The staff in the office seemed to enjoy working in small groups and writing affirmations for our section. One of the affirmations even received cheers. The manager has agreed to pass these affirmations to all of our staff and display them in our section.
I came back to my desk and realised the four agreements could easily be changed into affirmations.
1. Be Impeccable with your words - I changed to 'I choose to be impeccable with my words'
2. Do not take anything personally - I changed to 'I approve of Myself'
3. Don't make assumptions - I had to think about this one - I changed it to 'I benefit from what you are expressing'
4. always do your best - I changed to 'I allow myself to always do my best.
So now I have these 4 beautiful affirmations looking back at me while I type away at my computer, I think they cover most situations.
