Expressing gratitude is an important piece of the puzzle when it comes to daily life. Without it, you are stuck. There are hundreds of ways to say thank you, none of which are wrong. The important thing, is that you DO say thank you and that you feel the gratefulness deep in your heart.
Gratefulness is not just thanking your mom for picking up the kids after school, or your husband for taking out the trash, though these are important. The symbols of gratefulness, or the way you express your thankfulness should also include appreciation toward God and the Universe for the many great things in your life.
What I mean is, yes it is important to thank those around you for the things they participate in that you are thankful for. Thank you goes a long way. I am also saying you should stop and take a minute to thank God for the glorious home you live in or maybe the "rock star" parking you got at the grocery store today.
Once you start being grateful for all the little things as well as the big things, in life you will start to see a change in that you will be blessed with more things to be thankful for.
The other great benefit to daily gratitude is that you are now focusing on those things you are appreciative of and less on those things you are not. This alone can improve the quality of your life.
This is the part of the web site I call “it’s all in the details”. When you are building a house you add those little details that make your house a home. That’s what appreciativeness is all about, making it personal. Gratefulness is one of those small details that will set you apart.
