Happy Sunday everyone. Today I am thankful for Sundays. Best day of the week if you ask me. What are you grateful for?

Today I thought I would talk about the law of gratitude. If you adopt this simple law into your everyday doings I promise you, you will begin to reap the rewards almost immediately. So, “what is the Law of Gratitude exactly“, you ask?

This law states that for which you are grateful for shall you receive more of. You can see this represented in human nature easily. Try telling someone that you are grateful for something they do well and notice that they will do their best to continue to do that which you have told them thank you for or that you tell them they do well. The Universe works in the same way. If you show your gratitude for that which you have you will get more of it.

Don’t take my word for it though. Try it out for yourself. Your mission if you choose to except it, is to spend the next couple days telling those around you what they do that you are grateful for and watch to see how they respond. Next time your spouse, or your boss, or your family member does something nice for you don’t just say thank them, let them know how grateful you are for them and what their gesture means to you. I can almost guarantee that they will go out of their way to make the same gesture again. Giving you more of what you are grateful for.

Now lets take this a little further and start thanking the Universe for the things you are grateful for, not just today, but everyday. Take the challenge and for the next 30 days take just a few moments to say thank you for … your home, your clothes, your vehicle, the people in your life, your toys, your morning coffee, your hot water, whatever you would like more of be grateful for it now.

Now, back to the law of gratitude. Why should you pay attention to this law? There are so many benefits to being grateful far from the fact that you get more of what you are grateful for. Here are just a few results gathered by those who have studied the law of gratitude and it’s effects.

One huge benefit is that it is impossible to be both grateful and have a feeling of lack or fear or depression. You can not hold both a grateful heart at the same time you feel anything other than gratitude. So the next time you start to feel lack or fear or depressed try thinking of what you are grateful for, hold that feeling of gratitude for as long as you can. Even 30 seconds of gratitude can alter your entire mood for the day.

There have also been studies on the effect gratitude has on your body. In this research it shows that those that seek out gratitude on a regular basis have a higher immune system and combat illnesses far better than those that do not have a grateful heart. Studies also show that those who are grateful show less anxiety and tend to have lower blood pressure than those who do not practice gratitude on a regular basis. So, do it for your health, do it for your wealth, do it for what ever makes you happy. Just do it.
