World Gratitude Day

World Gratitude Day

Good morning all,

Today I'd like to introduce you to world gratitude day, No it's not today, but it does represent how important gratitude is not just in your life, but also in the world around us.

The United Nations Meditation Group started world gratitude day in 1965 as a way to give thanks to someone who had made an impact in the worl around us in a big way. The idea for this day came about at a Thanksgiving dinner at the International East-West Center in Hawaii and was first celebrated the following September.

At this Thanksgiving dinner the attendies agreed to take back this day to their own countries and spread the word of gratitude to the masses and this very special day that would be celebrated on September 21st. They would award those who made a difference in the world while at the same time spreading gratitude to others by being grateful for those individuals.

This holiday is not just for those who make a big difference in the worls, but for all those who do their part and it is a day we can all get involved in, by giving thanks for those in our own lives.

I tell you of world gratitude day not just for the day itself, but for what it can represent in your own lives.Where can you put the spirit of this holiday to work in your own life? Can you incorporate it into your own family or work place perhaps?

Maybe it's not about setting a side 1 day out of the year to say thank you to someone who has made a big difference in your life, maybe it can be celebrated once a month or once a week and maybe you could get others involved in the celebration.

Todays challenge is to incorporate world gratitude day into your own life by spreading the word of gratitude and setting aside 1 day a week, month, or year to recognize those people in your own life that make a big difference and to spread this out into the world starting with your family and or work place.

Have a great week and Thank You for being apart of this challenge.
