Happy Sunday Everyone,

We have been talking about gratitude and the importance of it in our lives, but not all people really know what it means to be grateful or how to develop an attitude of gratitude, so today I thought we could talk about how to develop gratitude.

First why would you want to develop gratitude? Well, outside of the fact that it just feels good to have a grateful heart, studies have shown that those who document their gratitude on a daily basis tend to live longer, healthier, more productive lives.

I don't know about you, but that seems to be reason enough for me. If being grateful added only one healthy year to my life I would say it is worth it. Lets look at the immediate benefits of gratitude though.

Being grateful for a thing can change your whole attitude and in turn make your whole day better. Try starting your day with what you are grateful for and see the impact it can have on your overall day, you just might be amazed.

So, how do you do it, how do you develop gratitude? It's simple really. You can start by finding just one thing you can be grateful for each day by looking at what is good in your life. Everyone can find one thing. Once you find that one thing, really concentrate on it and give it your attention and say thank you for it. This could be a person, a place, a thing, an attitude or a number of other things. The important thing is that you show your gratitude for it.

Once you have master giving thanks for the easy obvious thing you have to be grateful for, try learning how to develop gratitude for other semi good things in your life. Write down what it is you are grateful for> Even if it is only part of something that you are grateful for. For instance lets say you hate your job, but you love the people you work with. A great place to start to enjoy your job might just be showing your gratitude for the people you work with.

Now lets take this just a little further and figure out how to develop gratitude for those things in our lives were we feel we are lacking or that we are not happy with. Why? you might ask. It's simple, being grateful is the easiest way to bring more of what you want into your life. So, why should you be grateful for things you don't like or feel you are lacking in?

Let's look at it this way. If you feel you do not have money this is what your subconscious mind will focus on bringing you more of it. If however, you are grateful for the money you do have and what it does provide for you then the universe does all it can to bring more of into your life. Being grateful can shift a little good to allot of good.

So, what are you waiting for? Start shouting from the mountain tops what you are grateful for.
