The Interview

Q) Patricia, Thank you for agreeing to do this interview with me. Your website is so refreshing and a joy to visit and I am so excited to share it with my guests. Your site brainywoman.com highlights remarkable women who are out in the world making things happen. Can I ask what the motivation was to start this website. When did you say this is what we need. A site that not only teaches women how to get the most out of life, but actually highlights the women who are out there making it happen?

A) Hola Bonnidette, and thanks for interviewing me and inviting me to be a part of your positive website. I feel much honored that you thought about me to inspire your readers.

I'm very passionate about creating projects to help people, especially children and women, and I've spent the last fifteen years creating projects for them. brainywoman.com was born from my passion to help people and my desire to tell the world that life is easy and we are here to be happy no matter what. We can create the life we want with just small (BIG) changes in our daily life. My life has been easy and happy thanks to my family and my ability to dream big. I'm a BIG dreamer! Yes, I've had some challenges (some people call them problems) to overcome and they are a precious part of my life.

My profession as a Creative Director, Writer and Life Coach helps me to put everything together and create the final product. Love yourself!! Tell the world you're Pretty, Sexy and Smart!

Q) One of the things I love about your site is that you highlight a variety of different women who are out in the world creating a real difference and each one is very unique and can be related to by a variety of people. So, every time you highlight a brainywoman there is a chance one of your readers can say ah, yes that is me. I can do that. My question is, is there one brainy woman that is that for you. Of all the women you feature is there one that really touched, inspired or moved you in a very personal way?

A) I always learn something from every woman we feature at brainywoman.com especially those who make a difference in the world with their example and their work, and we are always inviting more women (you and you, and you) to share their stories with us in our digital brainywoman magazin'. I'm sure YOU have something great to teach us. I want to thank my editor, Janet Muniz, because she is the woman behind the stories in bw magazin' and I have learned a lot from her. She is a wonderful woman! I have a brainywoman at home too, she is my daughter Daniela. She is nine years old and she inspires me to be a better woman and give more to her and to others every day. She is my life!

Q) ”Play to Win” is one of my favorite articles on your site. It took me a long time to realize that knowing something and doing something with what you know are two very different things. As immature as it sounds, the first time I read about the law of attraction and the power of affirmations I thought (not consciously mind you) that having that knowledge meant the universe would somehow magically make it happen for me. It took me years to finally do something with that knowledge. For you, is there any one area you struggled with and overcame, such as fear or limited beliefs or anything that held you back at one time that you are now aware of and are powerful in that area? If so, what was it and how did you finally gain power in that area?

A) I really love this question because that is why I have brainywoman.com. I only write what I believe and have practice in my own life. Since I was a child I've never believed what people says. I need to practice and implement things in my own life to be sure that they work for me. And yes, I have a lot of stories that I would like to share with you about my limited beliefs. Here is one, twelve years ago I created a comic strip in Spanish and published it every Sunday in the newspaper La Opinion, in Los Angeles, CA. The comic strip was called "Berrinchitos y sus Amigos" and was created to improve communication between parents and children. It had a very good acceptance in the community. I received a lot of good comments and invitations from people in the publishing and writing business and I never accepted any. I thought "I don't need people to help me to be successful". My beliefs like "I don't like people," "I can do it by myself," and "People in that business are not honest" limited my growth as a professional and stopped me to do what I really love to do. My limited beliefs and my fear to succeed were bigger than my desire to help people. I've been practicing everything I write for the last five years and I have gotten great results. Now, I'm excited to be successful and help people with my projects, and I'm preparing myself every day.

Q) I love books and there have been many that have had an impact on me, but one stands out more than any other. I find that is the case with most people in this industry. Is there such a book for you? What is that book and what was the impact it had on you?

A) To be honest with you, I'd not had the habit of reading until five years ago. Most of the things I've learnt has been listening and analyzing people's comments and reactions. I consider myself an "active learner." I love to implement what I learn in my own life. If something works for me, I create a new belief or habit, if not I just get rid of that. I've read a lot of books for the last five years, and not only books, but articles, reports; listened webminars, summits, conferences, interviews, and any other thing that can help me to learn and understand things. I'm a little crazy to learn more and more every day. I have so much fun practicing what I learn, most of the time I'm amazed with the result I get.

Back to your question, I have one book that inspired me to start brainywoman.com. Two years ago I received a package from Mexico, and it was a book from my older brother. It was a surprise! The book was "The Answer" by John Assaraf and Murray Smith. I recommend that book for anybody, especially the ones who wants to start a business or a new project. I read that book every time I'm creating a new project.

Another book that I go back and read two to five minutes for inspiration is "The Power" by Rhonda Byrne. It is an easy to read book and I think love is the most powerful emotion that helps you to feel good and create what you want.

When I want to do an exercise and have fun, I read "Be Happy" by Robert Holden, Ph.D. It has a lot of good and easy exercises to help you to release your happiness. This book inspired me to be more creative and create different exercises and games for me and my daughter.

Q) Thank you for taking the time to share yourself and your site brainywoman.com with my readers. Do you have any final words of wisdom or advice or anything else you would like to share with my visitors you believe would be beneficial to them?

A) You're welcome Bonnidette.

I would like to remind everyone that we are in this world to be happy and we can create the life we deserve and want. We are responsible for everything that happens to us. Being responsible means YOU are in charge of your life, nobody else.

Be aware of your words, thoughts, feelings and emotions because they are creating your life every day, especially your emotions.

Believe only what is good for you, things that make you grow as a person and help you to improve your life.

Ask yourself five o more times a day, how do I feel right now? And if you are not feeling good, DO something to feel good in that moment! Enjoy your life!

Create a "good morning" routine to connect yourself with your source and give thanks for the wonderful day you are starting.

Believe you deserve only good things, when you believe that, nothing bad can happen to you!

I want to thank you for your time and for giving me the opportunity to share brainywoman.com with your readers. I'm working on delivering the best content and information to brainywoman members every day. I'm doing some changes that you will notice soon, so be aware! I invite everybody to subscribe and enjoy the free benefits of being an active brainywoman. Remember that you can read two new blog posts every week -one every Tuesday and one more every Friday. We have a new issue of the bw Magazin'  every three months. All the articles are new and very inspirational. You can visit our activities and print out our monthly calendar.

Thanks for your time and I hope to meet you at brainywoman.com soon!

Oh!... one more thing, I'm very excited because my book for children "The Three Powers" is coming this December. I have BIG plans for it and I'm working on staging a play from the book as a fundraiser for Elementary Schools. The book is a solution for the bullying problem. I need a lot of help from the community (especially parents) and I'm inviting everybody who is interested in being part of this transformational event for our children to contact me at eti-k@sbcglobal.net As I told you, I'm a BIG dreamer and I really believe that we -together- can improve the life of every child and eradicate the problem of bullying once and for all. Act now!!...You can send me your blessing and good vibes too! ;-) THANKS!
